Reflecting upon the sun that shines and the air that surrounds. Many travels and journeys lay ahead. I am planning to take in and appreciate all that life has prepared in this story.
Current journey -
learning and exploring the wedding market to prepare for marriage.
I ordered wedding invitation samples and although they are beautiful - they feel so useless.
This paper will get thrown away - hopefully - recycled.
Postage required. What do we envision and dream of?
I am leaning towards 100% recycled paper. If we do anything - I am leaning towards DIY - I can print things. We are not making a hundred. We literally have 14 invitations to decide to share with family members and closest friends.
I don't need printed napkins, printed programs, custom menus, directions and addresses.
If anything - we will create a website so that you can virtually celebrate with us. We know when but do not know where. We have an idea of who but do not know how, yet. Eventually, it will be perfect just the way it is.
I miss friends and I want to runaway.
Bueno amigos -
Aqui estamos. You hago lo que yo hago porque... I elijo hacerlo. Es mi decision.
It has been very discouraging to hear political discussions about my teaching profession and saying that children are not in school as if school has stopped because we are not in the building, in person. I have been working this entire time. Even when I tested positive for covid-19. I worked virtually from home. I made that choice. I showed up online every day.
These students have been connecting on zoom and showing up, if at least to log in and have your zoom appear to be connected. Yes, it has been difficult. Many kids are home alone or with siblings and a lot going on at home. Parents might be working from home with them too. I love my students. I give them praise. I love them so very much.
After quarantine, I worked to complete art kits for all my students. My colleague helped prep over 300 assorted paper kits for our 3rd - 5th grade students. She did the math to make sure that each of those 300 kids would have at least the 3 primary colors and a paintbrush. We wished for the amazing watercolor kits with 8 colors and a quality brush but the supply was not available. I used my hands to create these primary watercolor kits for each child.
With the remaining fund for the original requests, we ordered over 400 packs of watercolor markers for our students to use.
I formated 30-40 page sketchbook packs for our students. They say they don't have paper. I have feelings.
Now, I do this alone because the risk is so high. I should be fine. I was asymptomatic. To be fully honest, I have access to all the materials and I cannot ask anyone else to help me. Too difficult to create art packs. I can't share art pack events. These kits were created with my clean hands.
Love.
