Dreaming Mermaid
Always keep dreaming.
I have so much work to do and a lot on my mind. I am resting because I know it is all there somewhere. I have already done this before. I have been here before. I would like to be better prepared always. I would like to communicate clearly with ... clarity?
I am tired. I am sleepy. I want to escape to faraway places. I feel inspired to dream of walking in paths of distant towns. I want to make memories. Do I really want to rush through life, looking to the next step?
I will go to Spain and Morocco this summer when I get all the details better informed.
I may even go to Portugal. I dreamed of this place. ... Did I really? My mom dreamed of this place. I need to ask her history.
New Month. New cheer. New hopes.
Here is the mission:
here ... WAS - - AGP (Malaga) $1200 or MAD (Madrid) $500 + local flight?
EF Tour
RAK (Marrakesh) - - AGP/MAD/BIO (Bilbao)/BCN (Barcelona)
Road Trip/Train Hop
... return home.
To travel takes time.

2017.28.12 = 12.28.2017
I woke up early this morning and decided to take time for myself.
I like to take a shower in the light of the sunrise. Warm sun rays shining through the window pane and watching the golden orb rise in the eastern sky. Dawn. It is dark outside in the early morning.
90 minutes later the sun is bright and the sky is pure blue. I have much to do. I can hear cars outside meaning that someone is out and has started their day.
Each time you leave your house you are taking a risk but it is an adventurous risk. You risk doing something great. Take a step forward. Reach towards others. Other people are taking risks too.
I have much to catch up on but if I must keep it simple then...

Warszawa
http://culture.pl/en/article/how-david-bowie-created-warszawa
I am going to try my best to see David Bowie in Warsaw. I just heard "Warszawa" for the first time. I found the above article sharing his brief history in the city. After his death, the city commemorated him with a mural in the Zoliborz district.
I recently saw Seu Jorge perform at the Kennedy Center with the NSO a Life Aquatic Tribute to David Bowie Concert. I cried during the first song and so many times throughout. I never expected such a reaction but these songs were the songs I grew up with. I will never see David Bowie but I had a chance to watch the man perform the songs he translated to Portuguese from David Bowie. I was in high school when Wes Anderson's Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou was released. I loved the songs. I recognized them and learned to discover and love David Bowie beyond the version in the "Labyrinth" (1986). Each time I would recognize him, my heart would flutter. He played Andy Warhol in "Basquiat" (1996) and Tesla in the "Prestige"(2006). I would sing to "China Girl" whenever the song played in "The Wedding Singer" (1998).
Like the Boston of Poland they say.

2018.09.21 - Philadelphia
Not Philadelphia but putting it out there... I really want to visit Cincinnati's Contemporary Art Center to see Swoon's installation!
Right so back on track - planning a day trip to Philadelphia. It is a city that is relatively close to Maryland and the drive is not terrible at all - what I thought was about 2 hours + traffic is actually more like 3-4 hours.
I have usual places that I tend to visit and explore and drag people to discover for their first time.
Collections:
I love the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Admission is pricey at $20/$14 students. I feel like I walk through my art history textbooks when I walk through their galleries. I love it!
I have been wanting to visit the Mutter Museum. I just found out that Lisa Nilsson has is displaying her quilled paper art Tissue Series. admission is $18/$13 students. So we decided to make this our first stop. This collection is amazing! It was one of the strangest places I have visited. I really appreciated the collection of skulls. I could not look at some of the displays. They were very graphic. We did not stay for too long since our journey began later than I expected, I underestimated the length of the drive, and we had a limited timed parking spot. I really liked it and I saw a fragment of ALBERT EINSTEIN'S BRAIN!
Cuisine:
After our successful arrival and field trip to the Mutter Museum, we were very hungry. In the past, I have driven to Philadelphia solely for cheesesteaks. I've tried Pat's, Jim's, and Ishkabibbles. They
say go to South Street for food and the Magic Garden is right there. The Reading Terminal Market is also another really cool place to explore and try food. We did not have a plan prepared but we were also told to get shwarma in Philadelphia and visit Saad's Halal Restaurant. We were very hungry and decided to each order a platter. We were surprised to receive so much food for what we asked and had plenty of leftovers to eat after. We planned on visiting South Street to get a cheesesteak before we left but never quite got hungry after our meal from Saad's.
Music Venues:
I considered going to the Electric Factory for a show. I had visited Philadelphia in the past and seen the Mars Volta perform there back in 2008. I found a Burlesque show for that night. We visited La Peg for a Fringe Arts Performance: Burlesque-N-Beyond Philadelphia!: SUGARHUSTLE.
Random:
We managed to get a little bit of the sunset at Bartram's Garden in their meadow and then had a surprise situation and had to visit the Hospital of the University of Philadelphia.
